SC Nexus · Privacy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information SC Nexus collects when you visit scnexus.ai, and how it is used. SC Nexus is a one-person business based in Indianapolis, Indiana — so this policy says "I" throughout, and "I" means Luke Cathcart. Questions? Email luke@scnexus.ai.
Information you give me. When you fill out the contact form, I collect your name, business name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), whatever you write in the message, and — if you arrived from a page in the Library — which page that was. I use this only to reply to you.
The Briefing. If you subscribe to The Briefing, the newsletter published on this site, I collect your email address and nothing else. No name, no company, no browsing history.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the approximate location (city or region) derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information. Google Analytics sets cookies to do this.
Security logging. When you submit the contact form or subscribe, the server records the date, time, and IP address of the submission to help prevent spam and abuse.
What is collected. Your email address, the date you subscribed, and the IP address the signup came from. That is the whole record.
Where it is kept. On my own server, in a file I control, written before any third party is involved. It is never sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone for their own use.
Who sends it. Email delivery runs through Resend (Resend, Inc.), which stores subscriber addresses in order to deliver the issue. To be straight with you about where things stand: the list is being collected, and nothing has been emailed to it yet.
No tracking pixels. The Briefing carries no tracking pixel, no open tracking, and no click tracking. I do not know whether you opened an issue or which links you followed, and I have no plans to start.
How to unsubscribe. Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe link in its footer, and using it removes you immediately and permanently. You can also email luke@scnexus.ai and ask to be taken off, which does the same thing. Subscribing to The Briefing is separate from contacting me about work — leaving the list does not delete an inquiry you sent, and sending an inquiry does not add you to the list.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not use it for advertising.
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. I use them only for Google Analytics. You can:
Blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.
I share information only with the services that make the site work:
I may also disclose information if required by law. I never sell your data.
I keep contact-form inquiries as long as needed to reply and maintain my records. Subscriber addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them. Analytics data is retained according to my Google Analytics settings. You can ask me to delete your information at any time (see below).
You can email luke@scnexus.ai to request a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can unsubscribe from The Briefing at any time using the link in any issue, and opt out of analytics using the tools above. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA — email me and I will honor applicable requests.
This site is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
I may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
