SC Nexus · AI, apps & websites — built and shipped by one operator

Software and AI systems that actually ship.

I build the websites, apps, and AI agents businesses run on — and I coach the people at the top to use this stuff themselves. A small shop, with a direct line to the person doing the work.

Two AI research systems I built and run

I built two research engines that read more than any person could, narrow it down to what matters, and draft it up for me to check. You can read what they produce every week.

They're the same kind of system I build for clients. They do the volume, they show their work, and nothing goes out until a person has read it and said yes.

  • 01Collect — every few hours, on their own
  • 02Sort — group the same story across outlets and screen out what doesn't fit
  • 03Read the original — fetch the full source for the few stories that make the cut
  • 04Draft and check — quotes, figures and links matched against their sources
  • 05I approve — nothing publishes without a person signing off

Most of what comes in is screened out. A few stories make it through each week.

Engine one · The Briefing

Finds the jobs in contracting and manufacturing that AI can change.

Reads the trade press that contractors and small manufacturers read, and the blogs of the software they run on, and picks out the stories where a job done by hand can now be done differently.

It won't write about a story it couldn't read in full, and every quoted phrase has to appear word for word in its source.

Engine two · Global Digest

Sorts out what actually happened in the world this week.

Reads newsrooms in every major region, plus Google News in 50 countries, and scores each story by a published rubric rather than by what gets clicks.

Every candidate story and its score is published with each issue, and its figures are checked against the reporting they came from.

Ten jobs an AI agent can do

There aren't a hundred kinds of AI agent. There are ten, pointed at different problems, and I've written each one out for 59 industries in their own vocabulary.

Who you'll work with

Luke Cathcart
Luke Cathcart · Indianapolis

I'm Luke Cathcart. SC Nexus is me: when you call, I answer, and when something gets built, I build it and keep it running.

I spent eight years in insurance and finance: underwriting at Protective, client service at Gallagher, then running my own brokerage. When I started using AI, I could see it was about to change my industry, so I bet on it instead of against it. I taught myself to build with it, and now I build websites and AI systems for owners and teach executives to use it.
